Blues at the Arch Festival brings thousands to Downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS - The annual Blues at the Arch Festival kicked off this weekend. It's a three-day music event that brings in thousands of people from across the region. "I came to hear some music and some blues, as you can see. I'm from Chicago, it's my fourth time here, and I just love it," said Helena Washington.Some people have been coming for years. Woman charged for violently attacking taco vendor in South Los Angeles

A woman who was seen on video violently attacking a taco vendor in South Los Angeles was charged on Friday.After the video was posted on social media, the Los Angeles Police Department identified the woman as Renee Latrice Hines, 36, of Bakersfield.She was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of use of tear gas, two counts of battery and two counts of unlawful possession of tear gas.On Aug. 6, Hines was seen rampaging against a worker at a taco stand near Grandee Avenue and 103rd Street in Watts around 6:35 p.m. Video captures taco vendor violently attacked in South Los Angeles According to police, Hines "punched and pepper sprayed the victim when the victim asked the suspect to pay for the tacos she had consumed."She was seen smashing the sidewalk taco stand and punching a female employee in the head while throwing items on the ground. Pursuit suspect charged in officer-involved shooting in L.A.

Police have identified the suspect involved in an hours-long standoff following a violent pursuit that left three officers injured in L.A. earlier this week.The suspect was identified as Manuel Ramirez, 28, by the Los Angeles Police Department.Ramirez was arrested after stealing a vehicle from the L.A. Department of Water and Power, police said. Police had received calls of a reckless driver near the 10600 block of Laurel Canyon.A pursuit was initiated in the Pacoima area, where Ramirez led authorities on a short chase on the southbound 5 Freeway, where he tried to ram officers and other drivers before exiting and pulling into a parking lot off Colorado Boulevard. KRON4 spoke to a Bay Area native who is now studying in Hawaii, He will head to Maui to lend a hand next week.San Leandro native Kaleo Lee is currently at the University of Washington’s Kona campus, studying to be a physician's assistant. Toddler dies on migrant bus sent from Texas to Chicago

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (Border Report) — A 3-year-old died Friday on a bus full of migrants sent from South Texas to Chicago as part of Texas’ border security, according to state officials.The child died while being transported with other asylum-seekers who had crossed the border from Mexico and boarded the bus in Brownsville, Texas, as part of the state’s Operation Lone Star border security initiative, according to officials with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM).Texas authorities did not say where the child was from or why they became ill.
