Anaheim dance instructor arrested on multiple sexual assault allegations

A Riverside man who owned and operated a dance studio in Anaheim was arrested Tuesday on allegations of sexual assaults involving young girls at his business. Mark Chavarria, 40, was identified by Anaheim police as the owner of Chavarria Institute of the Arts located at 160 South Old Springs Road in Anaheim.Police say several young girls between 12 and 14 years old reported multiple sexual assaults involving Chavarria. The young victims reported that the assaults happened while they were attending the studio, according to the Anaheim Police Department.Detectives immediately investigated the incidents and later arrested Chavarria on suspicion of several sexual assault offenses. SAN JOSE — Police arrested a man in connection to an April road-rage incident and seized 40 firearms from his possession, including a fully automatic submachine gun, according to authorities.Police received a report around 9:30 a.m. on April 13 of a driver brandishing a firearm at another driver during a road-rage incident at the intersection of Quimby Road and Remington Way. The suspect fled the scene but officers from the department’s Field Training Program identified him and, with the help of supervising full-time officers, obtained arrest and search warrants, police said.Officers arrested the suspect on April 28 and searched his San Jose residence.
