GARDNER, Massachusetts (WBZ) — From his table at the Gardner Ale House, Matt Dyer planned his next steps.The 29-year-old is on a monumental trip around the country by foot. The Windham, Maine native started closer to home and plans to walk to Miami, Florida before journeying to Washington state. Consider it a path to outline the country rather than walking through it.Dyer served in the United States military for several years and worked overseas. His wife tragically died by suicide roughly six years ago. Thursday will mark four years since his father passed away. Dyer, in need of a reset, set out on a similar journey to Virginia just a couple of years ago. A New Bedford man was charged with driving under the influence after he allegedly struck two motorcyclists in Taunton early Saturday morning, killing one and seriously injuring the other, officials said.Fred Moreira, 35, was driving southbound on Route 24 where he was arrested around 2:30 a.m. after the crash, Massachusetts State Police announced. He faces charges of vehicular homicide, OUI liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.30-year-old Tyler Moniz of Fall River was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. MURRIETA, Calif. (AP) — Six people died after a plane crashed over a Southern California field on Saturday morning before bursting into flames.The plane was engulfed in fire along with about one acre of vegetation when deputies arrived. The plane crashed near an airport in the city of Murrieta, California, in southwest Riverside County, located between Los Angeles and San Diego.The flight had originally departed from the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas before crashing into the field, KTLA reported. The plane was a a Cessna C550 business jet, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.The six plane occupants were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after authorities found the burning plane after 4:15 a.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
