DENVER (KDVR) -- Following the White House's lead, Gov. Jared Polis has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff on Thursday and remain lowered until Oct. 30.The flags were lowered following the tragedy in Lewiston, Maine on Wednesday. The suspect in the fatal Maine shootings is still at large. Residents are sheltering in place Authorities say a U.S. Army reservist killed 18 people and wounded 13 in a mass shooting at a bowling alley and bar. Maine is still in a panic with the suspect at large.The state of only 1.3 million people has one of the country’s lowest homicide rates: 29 killings in all of 2022.To honor the victims of the tragedy, President Joe Biden proclaimed all flags to be lowered to half-staff.Gov. All lanes are closed on Interstate 595 after a tanker rolled-over and caught on fire.Davie Fire Rescue arrived at the scene on I-595 West, just before Exit 5: Pine Island Road, Thursday afternoon. The tanker carried waste products and its fuel lines were ruptured. The vehicle swerved, went on its side and caught on fire. Rescue crews at the scene attempted to douse the flames and have called additional units to assist them.According to officials, the driver of the vehicle is in his 30s and was transported to Broward Health Center with severe burns. Crews were able to put out the fire, but due to debris at the scene, three lanes on the highway were closed down. Florida Highway Patrol troopers are expected to arrive at the scene to direct traffic. (CNN) — Roughly 900 US troops have deployed or are deploying to the Middle East to bolster US force protection in the region, Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen.
