Can’t access your email? Microsoft Outlook seeing widespread outage

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Microsoft is having a case of the Mondays. People around the U.S. are noting that the company's Outlook email system is currently down.“We're having issues, but we're working on it,” Microsoft’s service portal states, indicating that Outlook is experiencing issues with a red “X” next to its software status. Another tweet from the company stated other systems were having issues: "We’ve identified downstream impact for Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business."KOIN reached out to Microsoft’s media relations department for more information but has not yet received a response. CHICAGO — Three recent Chicago Police Department (CPD) recruit classes were honored with a graduation ceremony Monday which included an address from Mayor Brandon Johnson.The ceremony was held for Recruit Classes 22-6, 22-7, and 22-8, and also recognized "recently promoted command staff, sergeants, detectives, and field training officers," according to a release from CPD. 4 restaurants robbed within 30 minutes on North Side CPD Interim Superintendent Fred Waller was also in attendance and provided remarks.Johnson's campaign platform for public safety and police reforms included making "CPD more efficient" and "strengthening police accountability" among other efforts. Editor’s Note: The video above shows KXAN News Today’s top headlines for June 5, 2023.MARTINDALE, Texas (KXAN) - The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office confirmed to KXAN that a man was recovered from the San Marcos River over the weekend. It said the sheriff's office received a report a man drowned around 3 p.m. on Saturday. According to the sheriff's office, searchers from the New Braunfels Fire Department Dive Team, Martindale Fire and Rescue and Mid-County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene. The body was recovered Sunday around 2:14 p.m. The sheriff's office said the person was possibly from out of state and the incident is being labeled an accident. It is the first known recovery of this year, according to the sheriff's office. KXAN's Sarah Al-Shaikh will have more on this story. COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KXAN) -- Following a shift toward telehealth care during the pandemic, Texas A&M University announced the creation of a new Telehealth Institute with the goal of tackling "disparities in access to high-quality health care."The university's board of regents has committed $15 million over five years to fund the new institute. Texas A&M School of Medicine and the School of Education and Human Development Clinical Associate Professor Dr. Carly McCord has been named executive director of the institute. "The virtual portion gets care to people when and where they need it, that could be in their homes, in their cars... in schools and jails," McCord said. "It can go anywhere and overcome barriers that create disparities like transportation barriers, (and) time barriers. SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) -- The San Marcos Police Department is searching for a missing man who has health conditions police believe could pose a threat to his well-being. Thomas Yada, 55, was last seen at a rehabilitation facility on West Hutchinson Street around 7 p.m. Sunday. He has several health conditions, and authorities believe they could pose a threat to his well-being. Yada was last seen wearing a blue shirt, jeans and a wallet with a chain. Police said he "sways side to side when he walks, has a slur in his speech, is hard of hearing and wears a hearing aid." Former Gophers football player Greg Eslinger was named to the College Football Hall of Fame ballot for the 2024 class on Monday. He one of 78 former Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) players on the ballot for next year’s class.Eslinger, a Bismarck, N.D., native, played center at Minnesota from 2002-05 and won two national awards: the Outland Trophy (best interior lineman) and the Rimington Trophy (best center), both in 2005. Eslinger is one of two Gophers to make all-Big Ten first team on three occasions. ARGYLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two people were arrested after one allegedly fled a traffic stop, ensuing a police-involved car chase in Argyle.
