(WKBN) - WWE kicked off 2024 with a surprise return from one of its popular legends, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, at its Day 1 Monday Night Raw episode. The Rock made an appearance interrupting former WWE champion Jinder Mahal. The man known as "The People's Champion" laid out Mahal with his signature People's Elbow finishing move. Travis County GOP unable to secure resources for hand counting in primary election

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Travis County Republican Party was unable to secure the resources required to hand count ballots in the March primary election, according to its chair. It means despite weeks of contentious back and forth between the GOP and the Travis County Democratic Party to reach a primary election contract, only Republican mail in ballots will be hand counted, but early voting ballots will not, Republican Party chair Matt Mackowiak told KXAN. GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Glens Falls man was arrested on Thursday and is accused of possessing child pornography. Asher Williams, 23, faces multiple charges. According to state police, an investigation into Williams stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He's accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.Williams surrendered himself to the Queensbury State Police where he was arrested and processed. Report: St. Louis homicides last year down 20% from 2022, almost 40% from 2020

ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department released a new report Monday showing a notable drop in homicides in 2023 compared to recent years. SLMPD says 158 homicides were reported in the City of St. Louis in the 2023 calendar year. Homicide totals in the city have dropped in at least three consecutive years, according to St. Louis police reports. There were 200 reported homicides in 2022, 201 in 2021 and 263 in 2020. Homeless man struck, killed by vehicle in South L.A.

A pedestrian was struck and killed in the Jefferson Park neighborhood in South Los Angeles Monday night.The pedestrian, a homeless man believed to be about 50 years old, was hit at about 11:25 p.m. in the 2600 block of South Arlington Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.He was in the roadway outside of a crosswalk when he was hit, police added.The man was declared dead at the scene, and the 28-year-old driver of the vehicle, which was headed north on Arlington Avenue, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.Nancy Fontan contributed to this report.
