ST. LOUIS - Only one game remains before St. Louis CITY SC turns the page to the MLS Cup Playoffs. St. Louis has surprised many in its inaugural season and will enter the playoffs as the top seed in the MLS Western Conference. Coincidentally, as St. Louis joins the playoff field for the first time, the MLS is preparing for the first year of a changed playoff format. Had St. Louis joined the league one year earlier and had the same success under last year's format, they would have entered the big dance with a bye through the conference semifinals. However, that is not the case for this fall. Eighteen MLS teams will qualify for this year's playoffs. There are five unique playoff rounds. St. Louis has an opportunity to play up to six games between the final four playoff rounds. Here's what to know about the playoffs setup as it pertains to St. Louis CITY SC. Get back,” Adelman said. “These are things that they have to go through live, and see it.”Denver’s penultimate preseason game might have been the most valuable one yet in terms of the eye-opening reps the Nuggets assistant coach feels are necessary for inexperienced pl...Chick-fil-A to pay $4.4 million to settle class-action lawsuit over alleged inflated delivery prices

(CNN) — Rep. Jim Jordan&#’;s speaker bid is in peril as the Ohio Republican confronts steep opposition from members of his own party, raising serious questions over whether he can flip enough holdouts to win the gavel. The House is slated to hold a second speaker vote Wednesday in what could be a pivotal moment for Jordan&#’;s candidacy. An initial round of voting on Tuesday resulted in 20 Republicans voting against Jordan, far more than the handful he could afford to lose given the GOP&#’;s narrow majority. As pressure grows on Republicans to find a way out of the leadership crisis, some have pushed for expanding the powers of the interim speaker, Republican Rep. Patrick McHenry of North Carolina. Republicans are discussing the possibility of bringing forward a resolution to empower McHenry as soon as Wednesday afternoon, two sources told CNN. Jordan already has a large Palestinian population.Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi made his toughest remarks yet on Wednesday, saying the current war was not just aimed at fighting Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, “but also an attempt to push the civilian inhabitants to … migrate to Egypt.” He warned this could wreck peace in the region.Jordan’s King Abdullah II gave a similar message a day earlier, saying, “No refugees in Jordan, no refugees in Egypt.”Their refusal is rooted in fear that Israel w...Latest news
